Theories and class connections:
Students will learn how to navigate websites and use different online features of sites, such as hyperlinks. Students will also learn how to use YouTube and how to send things from online to different places, such as posting a video to a blog. Students will learn the functions of blogging and how they can communicate with others through blogs. It is important for students to use and understand how to use these different multiliteracies, because the world is socially and educationally continuing to transform into a more technological place. As educators we have to understand that multiliteracies includes more than written text and computers. Oral, spatial, audio, and etc are all parts of multiliteracies. In our ICP, we will also use a lot of oral communication through many class discussions and group projects. Multiliteracies theory incorporates many different ways of gaining new information and it is useful to teach our students the many ways to obtain new inforamtion, and how to send it out.
